Day 1 and 2 Jamaica

Internet has been down, but its up now.

Beautiful days here in Jamaica. Yesterday just laid back in the sun and enjoyed the ocean and some beach volleyball. Food was excellent at Arizona’s, a steak that melts in your mouth.

The water temp was perfect and hardly a cloud in the sky. Today no clouds at all. Went on a tour of Sandals Grande and enjoyed some wonderful island music at lunch.

Saw all the different types of suites, including the honeymoon, romeo and juliet and others.

Sandals is a great place to honeymoon or vacation and the Grande has 8 restuarants and always something going on. I’m on my way to volleyball again while my wife chills at the pool. Piano bar sing a long tonight will be a blast.

Any questions about Sandals, or any other all inclusive resort, call DK1 Travel, your honeymoon and destination wedding experts in Mexico and the Caribbean. 1 877 351 7866 or email dan@dk1travel.com

By the way, there are several gorgeous wedding locations on this property.

on my way to Jamaica

I’m currently sitting at the airport in Phoenix waiting for my flight. My wife freaks out if we aren’t here 18 hours before the plane leaves, so here we are, after being informed that our flight has been delayed because the CREW needs more sleep. Good thing the captain isn’t married to my wife :)

We are going to Jamaica to explore Sandals Grande Ocho Rios. DK1 Travel has sent many many honeymoon couples to this resort, as well as several destination weddings, so now it’s our turn. The resort is situated in 2 parts, one in the hills, and the other closer to the beach in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

We have been to Jamaica several times, and each time we fall in love with the the island and the people (the sober ones anyway).

Sandals Grande is a fabulous resort with all the amenities you could want, all included. There are 9 restaurants, and if that’s not enough, there are free shuttles to it’s sister resort, the Sandals Dunn’s River. You’ll have to hurry though to take advantage of that, as Dunn’s River is closing this summer.

If you want more info on Jamaica, Sandals, or any other location, give DK1 Travel a call, 1-877-351-7866.

Who Needs a Travel Agent?

If you are a realtor, what do you tell someone who wants to sell their own house, because they think they’ll do it better, or cheaper than you can? How about a doctor? Lawyer? Yet, alot of people spend alot of time looking at pictures, reading reviews that aren’t written by travel professionals, and go off and book a trip.

Quite often they wind up disappointed. You can read their reviews. They are usually bad, because expectations weren’t met. Possibly, because the expectations were too high. Possibly they just didn’t know the area well enough and booked a place that they shouldn’t have. But it looked so good on line! No one told me about that! Or maybe they are like a friend of mine who booked a late flight, only to find out the car rental desk was closed by the time he got there. That will start a vacation off on the wrong foot.

But, hey, if you don’t ride the wave of change, you drown in it. So, at DK1 we have a state of the art booking engine, where you can book anything you want. We have agreements with, and you can access major search engines like Travelocity, Hotels.com, hotrate hotels, etc www.dk1travel.com So, if you like to do the research yourself, great. But, if you know that I’ll do it for you, and will absolutely find a cheaper price than you can, why not just give me a call, put me to work, and you do something else.

And if your trip is REALLY important, like a honeymoon or destination wedding, you need someone who really knows the area, because they have been there. For instance, St. Lucia is a beautiful island in the Caribbean. I send several people there each year. There are 3 Sandals resorts on the Island. Which one should you stay at? They are all different. In fact, one of them, has a clientele with an average age of 60+. Now, if you are 23, and going on your honeymoon; do you really want to stay at a resort where everyone is 40 years older than you are?
But if you are 50 or 60, you might want to stay there. So, which one is it? You won’t find that information on the internet. You have to ask someone who’s been there. Someone who is a trained and certified Sandals expert.

Cruises, vacation packages, all inclusive resorts, Eco adventures and hunting/fishing trips. Golf vacations, last minute deals, you name it. The list is almost endless. All at prices lower than you could find on your own.

So, if you want to spend all the time to do it yourself, great go to www.dk1travel.com and do it. But why not email me and let me know what’s happening so I can watch out for you. Or, if you want to save some time, let me do the looking. I’ll get you the best price, (and I’ll bet it won’t take me as long as it takes you :)
